International Nurses Day, celebrated on 12th May every year is also recognised around the world as Florence Nightingale’s birthday. Florence Nightingale’s work laid the foundations for a modern nursing profession. She set out to improve the care that nurses give, helping to save lives but also improve the quality of patients’ lives. Today’s nurses are the guardians of Florence Nightingale’s vision. It is always a time for nurses to gather and celebrate the role of this profession in our society. This year is no exception. Vaatsalya hospitals has been celebrating Nurses’ day since their inception in 2005. This year also it was celebrated across our hospitals in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh to commemorate Florence Nightingale’s life.

The celebration started with an oath taken by all the nursing staff and cutting of cake. There was also a presentation on various challenges of modern nursing which was presented by the nursing superintendent. International Nurses Day is the perfect opportunity for recognizing the contribution and effort of nursing staffs. Vaatsalya presented Florence Nightingale Awards to 25 of their nurses who delivered extraordinary performance this year.

Village Meet

Child Gets Back His Kidney Function

22nd August 2011, the day which Mr.Rahul Sab Mulla, a 35 year old farmer from Shirolli, a small village in Chincholi Taluk, Gulbarga district would not want to remember in his life. This was the day he took his 11 year old son Mehboob who was suffering from fever for the last 5 days, to a Paediatrician near Sedam, 35 Kms away from Shirolli. There was a bad news awaiting for Mr.Rahul Sab Mulla as the doctor informed him that the boy's condition is very critical as both his kidneys had failed and not working.

On the Occasion of world Health Day Vaatsalya Hospital, Narasannapeta conducted free Health Check-up camp for Hospital Staff.


On the Occasion of world Health Day Vaatsalya Hospital, Narasannapeta conducted free Health Check-up camp for its employees. Investigations like Blood Pressure, BMI, ECG etc were provided free of cost to the employees. Dr. Golivi Mohan (Medical Director and Consultant Surgeon) delivered a health talk on the importance of Physical and Mental Health of a person working in the hospital. Along with consultation medicines were also provided free of cost during this health check-up program.

Team of doctors comprising of Dr.D.Lalithakumari, Dr.R.N.Maharana and Dr.B.Devendra headed by Dr.G.Mohan (Medical Director, Vaatsalya Narasannapeta) provided free consultation to more than 150 people who had attended the camp.
